About the RER

We're going to be seeing a performance at Theatre de la Cite International des Arts in the 14th arr. It's necessary to take the RER.
I found this terrific site for information about the RER and thought it might be helpful to post here. (Mim Golub Scalin)

A Sunny Day

We've been having sunny days in January, which is quite a treat. We took the Metro from Pont Marie to La Crimee, way up north, to start our walk down Canal St. Martin. At that end of the canal, there were people rowing in shallow boats, and larger boats were anchored along the sides. We continued our walk towards Bastille. On Quai Valmy, we stopped for coffee at Hotel du Nord, of movie fame. It's a lovely cafe/restaurant, a good place for a break.

Return to the Cité

It's gray today, but what matter. We're back at 8317. We've been here 4 days and feel like we've never left though it's been 2.5 years. Catherine and Christophe greeted us as if we'd seen them a few months ago. The reception area has been renovated since we were here. It's quite nice. It was nice to find a set of clean towels, an electric kettle, some food provisions, and toilet paper. Thanks to the previous occupants, we appreciate that.
